Infrastructure of Tomorrow

As the world around us changes, our infrastructure must be ever-evolving to keep up with new demands and needs. To give a behind-the-scenes look at what it’s like to work with always-changing infrastructure, Rowan University’s Center for Research and Education in Advanced Transportation Engineering Systems (CREATEs) joined with the Rowan College of Engineering’s Civil and Environmental Engineering faculty to present “Infrastructure of Tomorrow.” This webinar provides insight into infrastructure careers and how they are meeting the demands of the modern world.

“In research, we are constantly improving the protocols, improving technologies, improving methods,” says Dr. Adriana Trias Blanco, an assistant professor in the department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, as well as a member of the CREATEs team. The webinar discusses a few of these new improvements and the issues that they’re aiming to solve. In addition, the future of self-driving cars, new methods for protecting coastal cities from floods during severe weather, and structural health monitoring are among the many topics explored.
