Program Information
Healthcare professions educators, in addition to content expertise in clinical areas, must attain pedagogical and curriculum development skills absent from standard medical education training. The Certificate of Graduate Study in Enhancing Instructional Practices in Health Professions Education develops medical school faculty members and other health professionals as master educators and academic leaders. These professionals learn an array of clinical teaching strategies, as well as adult learning or andragogy, written and clinical assessment, curriculum/program development and management, and teaching and communicative proficiency. The certificate develops students' effectiveness in the field of health professions education, benefitting their students and, ultimately, patients and the healthcare system.
The Enhancing Instructional Practices in Health Professions Education COGS is a part-time program offered in an accelerated online format. It requires the completion of 12 graduate semester hours (4 courses).

The following is a list of items required to begin the application process for the program. There may be additional actions or materials required for admission to the program. Upon receipt of the materials below, a representative from the Rowan Global Admissions Processing Office will contact you with confirmation or will indicate any missing items.
- Completed Application Form
- $65 (U.S.) non-refundable application fee
- Bachelor's degree (or its equivalent) from an accredited institution of higher learning
- Official transcripts from all colleges attended (regardless of number of credits earned)
- Recommended minimum undergraduate cumulative GPA of 2.5 (on a 4.0 scale)
- One letter of recommendation
