The Post-Baccalaureate in Advanced Premedical Studies at CMSRU is a flexible academic enhancement program offered through Cooper Medical School of Rowan University (CMSRU) and Rowan Global. Courses are led by expert faculty and build upon the knowledge base of the premedical core sequence from an undergraduate degree, incorporating high-level problem solving and teamwork. Students will engage in a fast-paced hybrid curriculum that combines online sessions with active learning modalities, augmenting the learning skills they will need in order to succeed in medical school. Focused advising and professional development occur throughout the program, including the medical school application process. Students who excel in the program may be eligible for automatic admissions interviews at participating medical schools, including CMSRU.

The Post-Baccalaureate in Advanced Premedical Studies at CMSRU is a part-time program offered in hybrid format. It requires the completion of 27 semester hours.

The following undergraduate courses must be taken at an accredited institution prior to matriculation in the Post Baccalaureate in Advanced Premedical Studies at CMSRU program: 2 semesters (8 credits) of Biology with labs, 2 semesters (8 credits) of Chemistry with labs. In addition, the following undergraduate coursework is recommended prior to admission: 2 semesters (8 credits) of Organic Chemistry with labs, 2 semesters (8 credits) of General Physics with lab.

The following is a list of items required to begin the application process for the program. There may be additional action or materials required for admission to the program. Upon receipt of the materials below, a representative from the Rowan Global Admissions Processing Office will contact you with confirmation or will indicate any missing items.

  • Completed Application Form
  • Completed foundation courses

    • Eligible applicants must have successfully completed the following undergraduate foundation courses at an accredited institution:

      • Biology (Lab): 2 Semesters (8 Credits)
      • Chemistry (Lab): 2 Semesters (8 Credits)
  • $65 (U.S.) non-refundable application fee
  • Bachelor's degree (or its equivalent) from an accredited institution of higher learning
  • Official transcripts from all colleges attended (regardless of number of credits earned)
  • Current professional resume
  • Minimum undergraduate cumulative GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale)
  • Two letters of recommendation

    • Two letters of recommendation from professors, departmental chairs, deans or academic advisors
    • At least one from a science professor
  • Essay

    • Topic: Describe your pathway toward medical school
  • Interview

    • Applicants will be contacted directly by the Faculty Admissions Committee to schedule the interview
  • Recommended submission of official MCAT test results
