The M.Ed. in Teacher Leadership is a part-time program offered in an accelerated online format. This degree requires the completion of a minimum of 30 graduate semester hours in 6 consecutive semesters. The following three components make up the M.Ed. in Teacher Leadership program:
Core Courses: 19 Semester Hours
- 18 semester hours in Teaching & Learning
- 1 semester hour in Self-Study Research in Teacher Leadership (METL 50550)
Content Area Courses: 11-21 Semester Hours
Choose from one of the following:
- Early Childhood Special Education: 15 Semester Hours
- Educational Technology: 15 Semester Hours
- English as a Second Language: 15 Semester Hours
- Global History: 15 Semester Hours
- History: 15 Semester Hours
- Holocaust and Genocide Education (Sociology & Anthropology, Glassboro Campus): 12 Semester Hours
- Learning Disabilities (Interdisciplinary & Inclusive Education, Online & Glassboro Campus): 15 Semester Hours
- Reading: 15 Semester Hours
- Reading/Writing: 15 Semester Hours
- School Public Relations: 9 Semester Hours
- Special Education: 15 Semester Hours
Program Exit: 1 Semester Hour
Self-Study Research in Teacher Leadership (METL 50550)
The six core courses for this program are offered completely online. The approved Content Area Certificates of Graduate Study (COGS) are offered in varying formats depending on the COGS (e.g., online, online and face-to-face, face-to-face Glassboro Campus, face-to-face Camden Campus). If students hold National Board certifications, two courses in the Core/Teaching and Learning COGS will be waived.
*Students that select the COGS in School Public Relations will be required to complete an additional two or three credit course to meet the 30 total required credits for the program. Please contact the program coordinator for additional information.
The following courses make up the Master of Education in Teacher Leadership program. Each course is scheduled in eight-week modules with each week of work starting every Tuesday at 8:00 a.m. and ending every Monday at 11:59 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time).
