This degree completion program is offered with classes taking place on the Rowan University Camden Campus. It is intended for those who have completed their Associate's degree and wish to pursue the Bachelor of Arts in Sociology. The Rowan University B.A. in Sociology seeks to develop competency in the analysis and understanding of the effects social factors have across all levels of society. Students may choose to pursue the General Sociology program or the Applied Sociology concentration. The General Program allows students flexibility in choosing which lower and upper level electives will be part of their program. The Applied Sociology concentration focuses specifically on the analysis and treatment of social problems, the assessment of community based needs and practices, and the development and evaluation of strategies for positive social change. It provides a sound foundation for pursuing careers in human and community service industries.

Rowan University requires the completion of 120 semester hours (30 S.H. must be at Rowan University) of approved general education (Freshmen beginning Fall 2018 or later must meet Rowan Core requirements) and major coursework in order to graduate with a bachelor's degree. The B.A. in Sociology degree completion program is a full-time/part-time program offered on the Rowan University Camden Campus only, that provides those who chose to pursue the General Program with 36 S.H. and those who choose to pursue the Applied Sociology concentration with 36 S.H.

Upon receipt of the materials below, a representative from the Rowan Global Admissions Processing Office will contact you with confirmation or will indicate any missing items.

  • $65 (U.S.) non-refundable application fee
  • Official transcripts from all colleges attended (regardless of number of credits earned)
  • Associate's Degree or 24 semester hours of transferable college credits
  • Minimum undergraduate cumulative GPA of 2.0 (on a 4.0 scale)
