New Jersey Certified Health & Physical Education Teachers:

The Driver’s Education Course and Endorsement is designed to give individuals seeking New Jersey State Driver Education Teacher Endorsement the most convenient route to that goal. Half of the coursework is completed via the web using a learning management system (LMS). However, there are also several face-to-face meetings including behind the wheel sessions. Students may opt to register for the course only or seek Driver’s Education Endorsement.

The New Jersey Department of Education (NJ DOE), not Rowan University, grants endorsements based on requirements set by the State. While coursework for this program meets the academic requirements for NJ DOE endorsement, it is the student’s responsibility to ensure that all other endorsement requirements are met, including, but not limited to, appropriate type and level of license and years of experience. NJ DOE endorsement requirements are subject to change. Endorsement applications are evaluated, by NJ DOE, based on the most current State requirements. For current NJ DOE licensure information, click here.

Driving School Applicants:

The course is also appropriate for those individuals seeking to pursue their ownership of a private driving school. Of the many requirements identified by NJ Motor Vehicle Commission, this class may fulfill the three hour driver education college level class required as part of the application for ownership of a private driving school. Please refer to NJ Motor Vehicle Commission for all requirements for ownership of a private driving school. For individuals seeking ownership, this class does not lead to driver education endorsement for public school teaching.
