Supervisor Certification
Program Overview
The Supervisor Certification is intended for public school teachers and administrators who wish to earn additional administrative credentials in their field. Our program prepares you to take on the authority and responsibility for the continuing direction and guidance of the work of instructional personnel. Working professionals appreciate the efficiency our part-time program, which is offered in an accelerated online format.
The program meets the requirements specified by the state of New Jersey and is designed for those who have already earned a Master’s degree and want to qualify as a supervisor in the public schools. Students outside the state of NJ must consult with their state department of education for certification requirements.
Teachers in the state of New Jersey may apply to the Supervisor Certification program through the New Jersey Teacher Outreach Program (NJTOP®). For more information about NJTOP, click here.

The following is a list of items required to begin the application process for the program. There may be additional action or materials required for admission to the program. Upon receipt of the materials below, a representative from the Rowan Global Admissions Processing Office will contact you with confirmation or will indicate any missing items.
- Completed Application Form
- $65 (U.S.) non-refundable application fee
- Master's degree (or its equivalent) from an accredited institution of higher learning
- Official transcripts from all colleges attended (regardless of number of credits earned)
- Current professional resume
- Typewritten statement of professional objectives: Must include reasons for pursuing this program
- Two letters of recommendation
- Letters of recommendation should be from professional administrators (supervisor, principal, or superintendent) and include information which attests to applicant's ability to pursue a graduate degree.
- NJ Standard Instructional Certificate or Educational Services Certificate
- Out of state equivalents may be accepted
- Certificate Program Acknowledgement
- NJ DOE Employment Verification Form
- Program requires at least 3 years of satisfactory full-time teaching or educational services experience
Career Outlook
School administrators and leaders have the opportunity to forge ahead in their careers with strategic development and professional certification. Job prospects for supervisory positions continue to grow, due to the need for intentional workplace training and education. In fact, employment in this field is projected to grow eight percent from 2018 to 2028, faster than the average for all occupations.

Submitting the Application Form is only the first step to beginning the admission process. All of the required materials listed above must be received on or before the application completion deadline for your desired entry term to be considered for admission to that term. We encourage you to complete the application form and begin submitting your materials at least one month before the deadline indicated.
